Gospel-Centeredness Introduced:

Gospel-Centered Men and Women - Tedd Tripp writes: “Dan Cruver’s Gospel-centered Men and Women shows that the Gospel is not only the way of salvation, it is the way of sanctification as well.  It is the Gospel that gives perspective, identity, and empowerment for daily living.  All problems with sin that we experience in daily living come from failing to maintain the functional centrality of the Gospel. This is liberating truth!”  ~ Dr. Tedd Tripp (You can read a helpful article of his here)

Hey Mr. Cruver. It’s Gabe, the long-lost bbc alumni student who just happened to come across your blog. I don’t know if you remember me, but I really enjoyed surveying your blog–it is so exhaustive; where do you find time to do all this? =) I loved the pics of your family!I wanted to leave you a comment specifically asking you what books would you personally recommend to me. I looked over your recommended list(s), but I was just so overwhelmed by the abundance of options (it was like a feast!) What Torrence book would you recommend me? If you could pick one or two books on Gospel-centeredness, which ones should I read. What about preaching? What about within Biblical Theology. What about in relation to post-modernity? Which book should a guy like me read? I hope this isn’t too broad of a request. Peace in Jesus Christ~Gabe–Psalm 16:11

In a web search on ‘preaching Christ’ i came across your blog on Christ-centered preaching. I noted your favourite dead folks and living folks. Have you ever read James A. Fowler? When I was searching some years back, the Lord directed me to his website http://www.christinyou.net and found someone who God has truly shown significant things about what it means to be Christ-centered. He describes himself as a ‘cerebral mechanic’ rather than a ‘metaphorical artist’ who is inclined to tighten down every ‘nut and bolt’ of theology and disinclined to engage in analogical illustration. So, pull out an unabridged Oxford Dictionary for starters.
Start with his articles http://christinyou.net/pages/xntyisxst.html – Christianity is Christ
http://christinyou.net/pages/probprov.html – Jesus Christ the Way: Avoiding the Ditches
    http://christinyou.net/pages/jctheway.html – Man’s Problem and God’s provision – Spiritual or Psychological?
I highly recommend his books ‘Christianity is NOT’ and ‘Man as God intended”.
