Dan Cruver Joins Carolina Hope to Expand Its Adoption Ministry
Carolina Hope Christian Adoption Agency announces the hiring of Dan Cruver as Ministry Outreach Coordinator. Dan, a former pastor and college professor of Bible and Theology, is a strong adoption advocate. He and his wife, Melissa, a professor of education at North Greenville University, began to actively pursue adoption after their second biological child, Daniel Jr., was diagnosed with a serious brain disorder caused by a genetic defect. They adopted their son Isaiah ten months before Daniel Jr. died at the age of three. The Cruvers are now a multi-racial family with a 10-year-old biological daughter, Hannah, and two adopted African-American boys, Isaiah (5) and Noah (3).
As Ministry Outreach Coordinator, Dan will network with pastors and churches, mission agencies, children’s homes, and other organizations to inform them of Carolina Hope’s full-service adoption ministry. He will also write articles for publication, help develop Carolina Hope’s website, and speak in churches, Bible study groups, and other venues to present adoption within the context of the larger story of redemption. His previous ministry experience coupled with his passion for and personal experience in adoption are well-suited for expanding Carolina Hope’s adoption ministry.
“We are very pleased to have on staff someone who has such a strong passion for adoption,” said Laura Beauvais-Godwin, Founder and Director of Carolina Hope. “Dan’s own family has grown through adoption, and he has also shown Christ’s compassion to orphans by traveling to China to minister in orphanages. Dan’s focus as Ministry Outreach Coordinator is to show Christians how redemption intertwines with adoption and to encourage churches to support and promote adoptions – both of children born overseas and here in the United States.”
Carolina Hope is a full-service Christian adoption agency offering international and domestic adoptions, South Carolina home studies, and birth parent services. The agency was established and licensed in 1998, and it is a member of the Joint Council on International Children’s Services and the South Carolina Association of Licensed Adoption Agencies.
